In this article we will teach you to choose the right wine. We will start from learning wine history, how it made and how this awesome drink helps to reveal the taste of food. Producing of wine have been started thousands years ago.The earliest known mentions of wine are from Georgia, Iran and Sicily, but although there is information, that a similar alcoholic drink was earlier in China.

The earliest evidence of a grape-based fermented drink was found in China at 7000 BC, Georgia from 6000 BC, Iran from 5000 BC and Sicily from 4000 BC. The earliest evidence of a wine production facility is the Areni-1 winery in Armenia and is at least 6100 years old. The spread of wine culture westwards was most probably due to the Phoenicians who spread outward from a base of city-states along the Mediterranean coast of what are today Syria, Lebanon and Israel. The wines of Byblos were exported to Egypt during the Old Kingdom and then throughout the Mediterranean. Evidence includes two Phoenician shipwrecks discovered by Robert Ballard.

In our time we have red wine, white wine, rose wine, fruit wine, mead and also many variants of wine based drinks. Eaсh wine is best for different meal. Red wine, as known, is best suitable for meat dishes. But you should remember, that on modern market there are a wide range of wine variants. So not any red wine is suit best for beef. For red meat, such as beef and mutton, we recommend to use “Cabernet or ”Cabernet Sauvignon” wine.

Here are some hints to choose wine. First hint is “complicated with simple”. It means, that simple wines go well with fine dishes and vice versa: fine wines usually served with simple snacks. Next hint is that wine should be sweetest, then meal. So that is why for desserts is best port wine and dessert wine. One more hint is that the wine should be more sour than dish. Eg for salads with lemon juice is better to serve sour “Brut” and not soft sour “Chardonnay”. As for a meat - you should remember, that red meat is best suitable with dry and semi-dry red wines. White wines are perfect choice for white meat, fish and meals with cream sauce. Easy to remember.
